واشنطن- “القدس العربي”:
حددت الشرطة الأمريكية هوية منفذ الهجوم على مبنى “الكابيتول” في العاصمة واشنطن على أنه نوح غرين من ولاية إنديانا مع صلات بولاية فيرجينيا.
وزعمت شبكة “فوكس نيوز” نقلاً عن مصادر من سلطات إنفاذ القانون أن نوح (25 عاماً) يعرّف نفسه على فيسبوك بأنه من أتباع جماعة “أمة الإسلام”، وربما فقد وظيفته مؤخراً، ولم يتم التأكد من هذه المزاعم بسبب قيام موقع “فيسبوك” بحذف صفحته على الفور.
وحددت الشرطة الضابط المقتول في الهجوم بأنه وليام “بيلي” غيفانز، وهو من قدامى المحاربين.
وقدمت البرلمانية إلهان عمر على تويتر التعازي بوفاة ضابط الشرطة، الذي قُتل في الهجوم، وقالت إن عدد الضحايا كان يمكن أن يكون أكثر بكثير لو كان المشتبه به يحمل أسلحة بدلاً من سكين.
وقالت وزير الخارجية السابقة، هيلاري كلينتون، في تغريدة على تويتر إن ضباط الشرطة لا يحمون فقط مبنى الكابيتول (الكونغرس) بل يحمون الديمقراطية الأمريكية.

Heartbroken to learn another CP was killed while protecting the Capitol. My thoughts and prayers go out to the officer’s family and the entire Capitol Police force. The death toll would have been worse if the assailant had an AR-15 instead of a knife.
